More obsessions
I finished watching the fourth season of The Wire on DVD and am dying to see the fifth season, but the fucking thing doesn’t come out until August. And like a “her-on” junkie from the show, I needed a new obsession. Lost isn’t doing it, I need a regular fix, and watching an hour a week or spreading it out over a season is for suckas. I’m now convinced that watching full seasons of shows on DVD is the only way to go. I have absolute control over what, when, and how. And I can fix-up a couple of shows a night if I get into it.
I actually don’t watch regular TV anymore. Can we dump our cable now? Hell no, we need Dora, Diego, Sesame Street, and the fucking-douchebag Wiggles for the crazy spawn on-demand.
My latest obsession is Entourage. I watched the first season in two days and am mid-way through the second season. Best line ever from the second season:
Dude, did you just get cock-blocked by Bob Saget?
Fucking classic…

Welcome to the real world. Only jobronis watch shows on TV. Unless it’s something like LOST or The Shield that isn’t over yet. Waiting for DVDs let’s the commoners sort out what’s good and what isn’t so you don’t invest too much time into a sucky show.
Don’t they sell Dora on DVD? Don’t your kids want to watch the same show over and over? Perfect.
Was I right about The Wire, or was I right? Isn’t HBO showing Season 5 On Demand?
Entourage. Yeah–no way I want to watch those except for on DVD…episodes are too short. I need to watch 5 or 6 of them at a time.
you were right about the wire… it rules. I’m going to wait for the DVD to come out to watch the last season. regarding entourage: exactly… i watched 5 episodes last night
Sounds familiar. I finished season 4 of “The Wire” last night. I’ve been a fan of “Entourage” from the get-go, but agree with you on the advantage of watching whole seasons on DVD.
Go to Surf the Channel. They probably have the 5th season up there to date.
I’m telling you man, DEXTER. You have to get it and watch. Season 1 is on DVD, Season 2 is coming up on DVD and the third season is fixin to start. The most addictive show ever. And the books are pretty good too.
Dude - Nip/Tuck.
Nudity. Surgery. Nudity.
It has the key three ingredients to a good show.
By the way…your “Dear Moog” letter is up today.
Enjoy.
